Mitch Baumeister
founded Baumeister & Samuels in 1988 to offer victims and their
families a different choice in legal counsel in the aftermath
of an aviation crash or other catastrophic mass disaster. Convinced
that the most compassionate way to represent victims and their
families following such a tragedy is to provide distinctively
individualized services, he gathered a team of experienced litigators
and staff, dedicated to bringing exemplary legal services to
their clients in a caring, supportive manner. The firm dedicates
itself to uncovering and improving dangerous conditions within
an industry while simultaneously securing full and just damages
available to families under the law.
The firm’s expertise has been
recognized by Martindale Hubbell, the national law directory,
which annually bestows upon Baumeister & Samuels its highest
rating. The firm is also honored to be included in the Martindale
Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, a publication featuring
only the most distinguished, competent and ethical practitioners.
Trust is the most important aspect
of the relationship between a client and counsel. A client is
asked to place his or her trust in someone they have never met
before, as well as put that trust into a civil justice system
with which they are likely to be similarly unfamiliar. To help
foster that trust, we make ourselves available 24 hours a day,
seven days a week to answer any questions or address any concerns
our clients may have. A tribute to the relationship we have
formed with our clients over the years is that many of them
remain in contact with us years after their lawsuits are resolved.
Although our civil justice system
is, at times, imperfect, it does provide victims and their families
an opportunity to collect fair and just compensation for the
damages caused by negligent conduct. To that end, we pride ourselves
on consistently securing the largest monetary settlements and
awards for our clients. Over the last 10 years, we have recovered
more than 300 million dollars for our clients and their families.
In addition, the firm has the distinction of having obtained
the largest individual personal injury settlement in aviation
history. The defendants’ insurers pay record-setting amounts
of damages to Baumeister & Samuels because they know that the
firm can and will dedicate the necessary time and financial
resources to pursue each and every case we handle through trial,
should it be necessary.
We invite you to look through
our Web site to familiarize yourself with our attorneys and
the types of cases we have handled. Afterward, we would welcome
an opportunity to meet with you and your family to discuss how
we may be of help. |

stayed in touch with that family
[a PA 103 family] as well as other past clients. To
her, he seemed less business-like, more personal than
the other attorneys.’
Baumeister noticed Jennifer’s wide, sympathetic eyes.
Her head had been shaved, her hair only beginning to
grow back, and her body was covered in bandages. Baumeister
marveled at her resilience and sense of humor.... He
believed the jury would see her as an absolute hero.
Before leaving [the hospital], Baumeister said ‘Jennifer,
I am very tactile as a trial attorney. People often
accuse me of getting in the jury box’. He asked to touch
her. ‘But I don’t want to hurt you. Is there any part
of you that doesn’t hurt?’ ‘The top of my head’, Jennifer
replied. ‘Can I touch you there?’ he asked. She nodded.
Baumeister touched the top of her head, softly, then
said ‘it would be an honor to represent you’.
