Retaining the Firm
Baumeister & Samuels works exclusively on a contingent fee basis. The fee is set out in a Contingency Fee Agreement which establishes that we are to be paid a percentage of the net sum recovered in each case we handle. The percentage of the contingency fee is determined on a case-by-case basis, based upon various factors.
Referring Lawyers
We maintain close professional relationships with attorneys and law firms throughout the United States and across the globe. Our practice has been built upon the referrals we have received from lawyers around the world who are aware of our expertise and the strength of our commitment to our clients. We do not advertise our services or solicit cases, and go to great lengths to protect our clients' privacy.
A referring counsel's participation will vary from case to case. We realize that some referring attorneys wish to be significantly involved in the case, while others prefer to be less involved. We are happy to work with lawyers consistent with the wishes of the client. The attorneys and staff at Baumeister & Samuels provide personal service and compassionate care to each and every client we represent. We share the attorney fee received in each case consistent with an agreement reached with referring attorneys at the inception of each matter.
Case Funding/Expenses
Baumeister & Samuels advances the funds and expenses required for the investigation and litigation in all of our cases. At the conclusion of the case, these monies are paid back to us out of the recovery before the contingency fee percentage is calculated. A sampling of the types of expenses normally incurred in litigation include court filing charges, expert fees, and court reporter transcripts.
